The U.S. Embassy has received reports of armed protests and unrest involving members of the Ivoirian military in the north of Cote d’Ivoire in Daloa, Bouake, and Korhogo. The Embassy has advised official personnel not to travel to or through these cities until the situation is resolved, and recommends that U.S. citizens consider avoiding non-essential travel to/within this area.
Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence. You should avoid areas of demonstrations, and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
