invite all OSAC constituents and affiliates from the international development
and humanitarian assistance community and practitioners from other international
organizations to attend the IO&NGO Security Overseas Seminar in Arlington,
VA on May 2-3, 2013. This two-day training/workshop will teach participants to identify, respond to, and
be better prepared for international threats.
Experts will cover topics on situational awareness, criminal trends,
explosives/mines, hostages, cross-cultural issues, crisis management, and
more. Embassy staff and
OSAC analysts will brief participants on services available abroad. Scenarios, discussion, and interactive
exercises will be utilized as part of this targeted training workshop. Registration is limited to 40 persons. Hosted by OSAC and the Foreign Service
Institute. Attendance and participation in this program are at the discretion of the Foreign Service Institute's Transition Center.
