Tropical Storm Mindulle is expected to hit central and northern Laos today, with sustained maximum wind speeds that may be as high as 39mph or 63 km/h.  If the storm follows its current projected track, it will cross into central and northern Laos in the general vicinity of Xieng Khouang and adjoining provinces as early as this evening.

Please continue to monitor the Embassy’s web site at http://laos.usembassy.gov as well as the JTWC website for updated information.

A storm of Tropical Storm Mindulle’s strength may cause some flooding, and winds may cause damage to trees, shrubbery and unsecured objects.  If you are in an area affected by the storm, you are urged to locate shelter, monitor media reports, and follow all official instructions.  You should carry your travel documents at all time (i.e. U.S. passport, birth certificate, picture ID’s, etc.) or secure them in safe, waterproof locations.
