The Italian State Police have informed the U.S. Embassy in Rome that there will be two demonstrations taking place in Rome this weekend:
Friday, November 10, 2017 9:00AM – 1:00PM
According to the Italian Police, this demonstration, consisting of approximately 600 individuals belonging to the Unione Sindacale di Base (USB) will demonstrate Friday, November 10, from 0900 to 1300. The route of the demonstration is as follows: Via XX Settembre, Via Antonio Salandra, Via Giosuè Carducci, Via Leonida Bissolati, Via San Basilio, Via Molise by the Ministry of Economic Development.
Saturday, November 11, 2017 1:00PM – 7:00PM
This demonstration, consisting of approximately 10,000 individuals, will be a march sponsored by a social movement named “Euro Stop” that supports the exit of Italy from the European Union. The march will begin at Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II and will end at Piazza Madonna di Loreto with the following route: Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, Via dello Statuto, Largo Brancaccio, Via Merulana, Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore, Via Liberiana, Piazza dell’Esquilino, Via Cavour, Largo Corrado Ricci, Via dei Fori Imperiali, Piazza Madonna di Loreto
Italian police will monitor both events. The U.S. Embassy in Rome recommends that U.S. citizens and their families avoid the areas of the demonstrations and exercise caution if walking or driving in the vicinity.
