Emergency Message for U.S. Citizens: Krakow (Poland), Demonstration near the U.S. Consulate General Krakow

U.S. Consulate General Krakow informs U.S. citizens a demonstration is planned for today, August 7, 2017 on ul. Stolarska, between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.  According to social media, the demonstration is being organized in connection to the arrest of demonstrators at the G20 Summit in Germany. 

Ul. Stolarska will be closed during the demonstration by local police.  In anticipation of the impact on operations, the U.S. Consulate General Krakow will be closing early, at 3:30 p.m.

Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence.  You should avoid areas of demonstrations, and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
