Security Message for U.S. Citizens: Lima (Peru) Update on Floods and Mudslides in Peru

Due to heavy rains and flooding, the Government of Peru extended the state of emergency to the Piura region in the northwest of the country, in addition to the state of emergency declared for the Carretera Central.  U.S. citizens should avoid travel to areas under a state of emergency.
