Security Message for U.S. Citizens: Ottawa (Canada), Planned Demonstration

The U.S. Embassy in Ottawa informs U.S. citizens of a possible demonstration near the U.S. Embassy on August 22, 2017, from approximately 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.  Local authorities are aware of the demonstration and will be on site.

Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence.  Avoid areas of demonstrations, and exercise caution in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
