Medellín and Bogota – August 10-14 , 2026

The U.S. Embassy in Colombia is pleased to announce that representatives from the Regional Federal Benefits Unit will visit Medellin and Bogota to offer services for U.S. Social Security and other federal benefits.

Medellín

Location: Centro Colombo Americano – Carrera 45 #53-24, Medellín, Colombia

  • Monday, August 10, 2026 from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM
  • Wednesday, August 12, 2026 from 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM
  • Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM
  • Friday, August 14, 2026 from 8:00 AM- 2:00 PM

Bogota

Location: Centro Colombo Americano – Calle 98 No. 17-32. Bogota, Colombia

Dates:

  • Monday, August 10, 2026 from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM
  • Wednesday, August 12, 2026 from 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM
  • Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM

We will provide a controlled number of tickets per day at the entrance (first come first serve basis) for services with a representative.

You may drop off the completed and signed 2025 Foreign Enforcement Questionnaire SSA 7162/7161 form without an appointment during service hours at the above locations. We can accept SSN ending 50-99.

How to prepare for your visit:

Direct Deposit Change: Please be prepared to present form SSA-1199-OP69  and a valid picture identification.

Application for Social Security Benefits: For each applicant, bring an original and a copy of the birth certificate and U.S. passport. If applying for auxiliary benefits or survivor’s benefits as the spouse of a deceased beneficiary, bring the original and copy of the marriage and death certificate.

Application for Social Security Number Card: For each applicant, bring an original and a copy of the birth certificate and U.S. passport, and completed form SS-5FS .
