14-Day National Lockdown commencing Tuesday, August 4 at 10:00pm
On August 3, the Prime Minister of The Bahamas announced a two-week national lockdown, effective Tuesday, August 4, at 10 pm, in response to the increased number of COVID-19 cases. Toward the end of the 14 day lockdown, Bahamian authorities would assess health data and decide whether to extend the lockdown, he said. He also announced that the Bahamian government would reassess the current lockdown on Grand Bahama Island closer to its scheduled end on Friday, August 7, at 5 am, and decide whether to extend those restrictions.
