Event: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has listed Kenya as a country reporting a higher number of cases of dengue fever in its
updated Travel Health Notice .
Dengue is a mosquito-borne virus common in tropical and subtropical climates that can lead to fever, aches and pains, nausea, and rashes.
Actions to Take:
· Consult the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for country health advisories or call CDC at 800-232-4636 or 404-639-3534.
· Travelers to risk areas should prevent mosquito bites by using an EPA-registered insect repellent , wearing long-sleeved shirts and long pants when outdoors, and sleeping in an air-conditioned room or room with window screens
