The U.S. Department State has ordered the departure of non-emergency personnel and eligible family members of the U.S. Embassy in Conakry, Guinea four days after the country's security forces opened fire on civilians and clashed with protesters at an opposition rally. Over 150 people were killed.

South / Central Asia Afghanistan, Pakistan
At around 6:00 am on October 28, five Afghan militants attacked a guesthouse used by the United Nations and other foreign organizations in the Shar-e Now neighborhood of Kabul. Five international UN workers, including one American, were among the 11 who died in the attacks. Additionally, militants fired four rockets at the Presidential Palace.
